Even if you already include concrete flooring and repair among your offered services and products, you may not use self-leveling concrete yet. If this is the case, you are leaving a versatile tool out of your contracting arsenal. You probably already know how flexible concrete can be as a flooring substance, due to all the decorative and colorful options and finishes available on the market. What you may not know is that it can be easy and fast, too, thanks to overlays and especially self-leveling concrete.
The Time Factor
The biggest advantage of self-leveling concrete over other concrete overlays is time, pure and simple. Rather than having to trowel the overlay over a surface, self-leveling concrete can simply be pumped or poured over the existing concrete substrate and at most raked or smoothed a bit. It will flow over the floor in one thick layer – usually at least ¼ inch thick – and create a smooth and seamless surface all by itself. Some of these will need another overlay to finish the floor, as they are primarily designed for quick repairs, while others can be used as the primary floor surface.
Duraamen’s Param self-leveling concretes are non-shrink and cure extremely quickly. Generally speaking, floors resurfaced with our Param products can take foot traffic within six hours and commercial traffic by the next day. This makes Duraamen’s self-leveling concrete ideal for any time you have a project that requires an extremely quick turnaround, as floors are often a big slow-down.
Self-leveling concrete is also one of the easiest ways to make an old space look new. These concrete overlays require a sound, clean concrete substrate, so you won’t be using them for heavy renovations of very aged or damaged rooms. It is quite possible that the existing surface looks acceptable, but the business or homeowner wants something new.
Duraamen’s self-leveling concrete products are the perfect way to repair slightly damaged concrete floors with little time or effort, leaving you free to focus on larger parts of the project while still having a fresh flooring surface. Some of them can also accept color, either mixed into the self-leveling concrete itself or via stains and dyes meant for concrete flooring. Essentially, you get all the flexibility of the decorative options of a new concrete floor, but within a few hours and with very little work. If you have a low-budget, tight deadline renovation project and really need to make the room pop, Duraamen’s Param overlays are the ideal choice.
Contracting is never going to be easy work, but you don’t need to make it harder for yourself, either. If your project has a worn but serviceable concrete substrate and the business or homeowner has not asked for a different material of flooring, it is a waste of time, money, and work to rip out the floor or trowel down an overlay. Use self-leveling concrete instead and move on to the next step in your project faster than ever.
